Pancakes or waffles? Personally, I’m a waffle gal. However, I’m not very big on having a huge breakfast, but breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So to help start off my day, I like to eat healthier than just a bowl of cereal or some buttered toast. Instead, I like a whole wheat waffle with peanut butter and berries.


Awww look, it’s happy that you’re reading! Now too much of something is always unhealthy, so one or two waffles is just a good amount. According to multiple magazines, blogs, and dietitians, eating grain products, especially bread, in the mornings is better for you than any other part of the day. Your body has more time to break down the healthy carbs and change it into fuel for the rest of the day!

Peanut butter is a good source of protein and can help fuel you for your day. For my breakfast, I use 2 spoonfuls of peanut butter to spread over the waffles and let the peanut butter melt a bit before putting on my fruits. I use all natural peanut butter, because the only ingredients are peanuts.


My favorite fruits to use for this breakfast are blackberries, raspberries, bananas, strawberry slices, or even blueberries! However, I have drizzled honey over the peanut butter a few times if I’m ever out of fruit. This is your breakfast, so make it what you like!

This is a perfect way to start your day! Protein, fruit, fuel, and maybe a cup of coffee to help kick up your day a bit. However, if I’ve had a stressful day after working with children, then I might have two cups of coffee! XD
