Fredericksburg Guide

February 10, 2021 by Ravenpettigrew | 1 Comment

It’s 5 o’clock somewhere and in Fredericksburg, it’s 5 o’clock all the time. This is our little version of ‘wine country’. There are over 50 wineries in this small town and I got to try some of the most famous.

I suggest renting yourself and your gal pals a party bus so you don’t have to uber/DD everywhere and it saves you money!

Barons Creek Vineyard

Our first stop was to Barons Creek Vineyard.

If you’re looking for a vibe that is relaxed and serene, then BC Vineyards is the place for you. Everything is so clean and gorgeous here!

Our tasting consisted of 2 options: red or white (I am a white wine gal myself). Each with about 5-6 different wines to taste. The sweet bartender even gave us a free tasting of their famous NV Sweet Dreams port, which was so sweet and delicious I bought a bottle.

Peep the picture to the left for reference! $38 for those who don’t like red wines, but love a sweet taste!

Of course, every winery has a “wine club”, many of which I almost signed up for so just make sure you sign up for the wines you love the most!

Here is the Barons Creek Wine Club Memberships:

Bronze

  • Ships 3 bottles 4 times per year with a 15% off all wines discount

Silver

  • Ships 4 bottles 4 times per year with a 20% off all wines discount

Gold

  • Ships 6 bottles 4 times per year with a 25% off all wines discount

Platinum

  • Ships 12 bottles 4 times per year with a 30% off all wines discount

Safari Winery

Up next is Safari Winery! This was my personal favorite, as the wines were all amazing.

Yes, I did end up buying a membership here.

Also, credits to my girl Julia for doing a cute little video of us enjoying our first tasting at Safari.

If you’re wanting a laid back, yet fun experience then I suggest Safari.

My top wines were Safari White (12/10), Moscato (11/10), Sweet Red (10/10), and the Late Harvest (13/10).

Our server was so fun, he really made the experience more enjoyable! I do recommend getting yourself a cheese board after the first winery, because you are going to feel snacky. Cheers!

Fat Ass Ranch & Winery

Fat Ass Ranch is popular for their Peach Wine- which I can agree that it is absolutely one of my favorite wines I’ve ever tasted.

I would describe FAR as a place for college students to come and hang out while enjoying some wine on a friendly budget. The donkeys outside, also give the place a little more fun!

If you want to go taste this fun wine, it’s just $10 per person here! The membership here is a little different from the others.

Memberships include a 15% discount off all wines, complimentary tastings, and only has 6 bottles of wine 2 times a year.

If you want to increase to 12 bottles of wine 2 times a year, then your discount would increase to 20%!

Go get your wine on! Safe travels, heles!♥️
